Looking for therapy in Morpeth?
I’m Dr Laura Walton, a Clinical Psychologist and EMDR UK Accredited Practitioner (EMDR: Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing). I see clients in person at Oldgate Therapy Centre in Morpeth. Here’s how to get started.
What I help with
Some experiences stay with us long after they’ve happened, whether that was last month or many years ago. Together we can make sense of what’s keeping you stuck and work through it, at a pace that suits you, so you can feel okay again.
After a distressing event
Trauma and PTSD, whether from a road accident, an assault, a sudden medical emergency or something else. Nightmares, flashbacks, feeling on high alert, or avoiding places you used to go.
Anxiety, panic and phobias
When worry, panic or a specific fear has started to take up more room in your life than you’d like.
Fear and trauma around water
Support after a frightening experience in or around water, including open water swimming, scuba diving and other water sports.
Getting past mental blocks
Self‑doubt, fear of failure, performance anxiety or procrastination that keeps holding you back.
Low mood, stress and burnout
When you’re running on empty, or things have felt heavy for a while.
My work is grounded mainly in EMDR and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), drawing on over 20 years’ experience in clinical psychology, including ten years in the NHS.
